Okinawa is located on the southwestern tip of Japan. It is comprised of 160 islands and has a population of around 1.4 million. The capital is Naha on the Okinawa Main Island. The prefecture enjoys a subtropical climate which means that it is warm even in winter, with an annual average temperature of around 23 degrees and water temperature that does not go below 20 degrees.
