RwandAir to restart its flights to and from London this October

RwandAir will resume flights to and from London to Kigali from October 3, 2020, as it reinstates its passenger network. RwandAir will also switch its London flights from Gatwick to Heathrow to benefit from important feeder traffic.

The resumption of European services will see the leading African carrier switch its UK operations from London Gatwick, with commercial flights to the Rwandan capital now departing from London Heathrow for the first time.

The inaugural RwandAir service from Kigali to Brussels and London Heathrow will depart on October 3 at 1:00 AM local time and operate using an A330 twin-aisle aircraft.

Flights will initially resume on a twice-weekly basis, before increasing to three-times-weekly from October 25, reconnecting the UK with Rwanda for passenger and critical cargo operations.

RwandAir to resume flights on 1 August 2020 Published on 22 Jul 2020

RwandAir will resume flights on 1 August 2020 starting with selective African routes where borders are open, as well as Dubai. More destinations will be added as countries lift travel restrictions.

Schedule of available routes can be found on the RwandAir website.

In preparation for resumption of flights the following measures will be in place:

-      Robots will be used at the Kigali International Airport to remind passengers about precautions.

-      All passengers, crew and staff will be required to wear a face mask inside the Kigali International Airport premises and onboard our aircraft.

-      Passengers and staff will go through health screening, including temperature checks. Thermal imaging cameras that remotely record body temperature have been installed at the entrance of the terminal building.

-      Self check-in kiosks are installed at the Kigali International Airport to reduce person-to-person contact.

-      Floor and seat markers are placed throughout the passenger journey at Kigali International Airport to help practice social distancing.
