Overview
Welcome to the Hapag-Lloyd Cruises Online Training
In the German-speaking region, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is the leading cruise brand in the luxury and expedition segment. It currently has four ships in its fleet. Sustainability and the environment are of immense importance to Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. Since 2020, the whole fleet has been running exclusively on low-pollutant marine gas oil with a sulphur content of 0.1% (low-sulphur marine gas oil) and forgoes heavy fuel oil entirely.
Hapag-Lloyd Cruises ships are small, individual and outstanding in their class: the EUROPA class of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises comprises the EUROPA and the EUROPA 2, the world’s best luxury ships and the only ships to receive the highest distinction of 5-stars-plus* from the Berlitz Cruise Guide. It offers the highest standard of cruise experiences with excellent service, varied cuisine, and exceptional routes around the world. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is expanding in the expedition segment with three state-of-the-art ships: the HANSEATIC nature and the HANSEATIC inspiration – the first two ships in the new three-ship expedition class were launched in 2019. In 2021, the HANSEATIC spirit will complete the fleet. The new expedition class features cutting-edge environmental technology, including SCR catalytic converters and is equipped to use cold ironing. The highest ice class and a shallow draught enable routes to the polar regions of the Arctic and the Antarctic, as well as to warm-water destinations such as the Amazon.
A further option in the portfolio is an extraordinary experience aboard the luxurious private jet, the ALBERT BALLIN, which is a particularly exclusive way to travel.
*According to Berlitz Cruise Guide 2020.
Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is a brand of TUI Cruises GmbH, a joint venture of TUI AG and the cruise company Royal Caribbean Group. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is closely associated with the Hanseatic city of Hamburg – the company’s base and “home port.”
