OTT launches new product course for meeting and event organisers
OTT, the online training and marketing platform for the travel and tourism industry, has launched a new product course area dedicated to meeting the needs of event and conference organisers.
The platform is the leading online learning provider for the travel trade with a registered community of more than 150,000 agents across 14 localised regional and country sites. OTT has become the travel industry’s largest online library with more than 200 travel product courses available to access for free.
OTT’s online courses are made up of a series of modules with detailed information on the destination or service. All courses take less than 20 minutes to complete and include slide presentations, videos and graphics which can be accessed across all devices. End of module quizzes help event planners embed their knowledge, with some courses offering the opportunity to enter prize draws on successful completion of the course.
Seven courses have been launched specifically for the sector – three destinations, three airlines and one service supplier. Slovenia, CzechTourism and Go Korea are the first destinations - courses including details on heritage and cultural offer, festivals, sports and other activities and hotel and venue capacity details.
The first airline courses to be uploaded to the platform are Garuda Indonesia, Turkish Airlines and airline alliance Star Alliance Expert. These courses include modules on networks and fleet, passenger classes, fares and booking incentives. Airport lounge facility Lounge Pass has also launched its own OTT course.
OTT founder Julia Feuell said: “We’ve launched our new MICE section in response to demand from hoteliers, destinations and airlines who already have existing leisure tourism courses uploaded on the OTT platform. Our online training courses give organisers greater confidence and knowledge about the product or destination’s specific MICE offering and how it can add value to their events.”
“We know that time is precious for meeting and event organisers. OTT’s free courses enable them to get to know a product or destination in under 20 minutes. They can also be taken at a time to suit them - during a tea break at their desk or, if they’re travelling, using their tablet or mobile.”
“Our free online, interactive courses are already popular with travel agents and the leisure travel trade – in total there are more than 6,000 course passes per month across the platform more than 1,500 new registrations per month.”
