OTT announces 15th anniversary collaboration with WWF-UK.

OTT is supporting environmental charity WWF-UK in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the online travel training platform.

OTT, which has a global community of 300,000 agents, announced its backing for the charity at WTM. Support will be driven at OTT’s in-person and hybrid events and through online initiatives during 2023. OTT will also create and drive engagement to a new online course enabling the travel trade community to learn more about the charity’s work.

WWF-UK’s mission is to create a world where people and nature can thrive together. The charity’s vision is to improve the natural world’s vital signs with plans to turn around the loss of nature by 2030.

OTT founder Julia Feuell said WWF-UK’s mission and goals were in perfect step with the greater focus on sustainability currently being adopted across the entire spectrum of the travel industry. “Climate change is an issue that affects everyone and there are all things we can do on a personal level to mitigate it. Our partners, across the whole of the travel trade, are making a massive effort to change their business practices in order to tackle the world’s biggest and most-pressing challenge – from airlines to cruises, destinations to individual hotels,” she explained.

“WWF-UK’s mission is to find and implement solutions enabling both people and wildlife to thrive alongside each other, which perfectly compliments these efforts. Helping to both support – and advance – these common goals is a great way for OTT to mark its 15th anniversary year.”

“As well as raising funds to protect the environment, WWF also aims to educate and raise awareness about the need to conserve some of the most beautiful wildlife habitats on the planet. OTT can help spread the word to the travel community and educate them about WWF-UK’s sustainability initiatives and campaigns, many of which are also destinations that we love to travel to.”

Louise Bittleston, Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager for WWF-UK added: “On behalf of everyone at WWF we are delighted that OTT has chosen to support our cause for their 15th anniversary year. With nature in freefall, we’re urgently tackling the underlying causes that are driving the decline – especially the food system and climate change. And we’re finding solutions so future generations have a world with thriving habitats and wildlife. It’s a huge challenge, but there is hope. We’re very grateful that businesses, like OTT, are supporting our mission through raising funds and raising awareness and we look forward to the year ahead”

WWF works alongside global governments, companies, communities and individuals with both the will to act and the power to transform our world. The charity is utilising ground-breaking scientific research, its global influence, and the backing of their many supporters to make sure the natural world’s vital signs are recovering by 2030.
