OTT and United Airlines launch Sustainability course

United Airlines is the latest company to launch a dedicated sustainability course with Online Travel Training (OTT).
United Airlines joins other suppliers to proudly showcase its sustainability efforts with the goal of becoming 100% green by reducing greenhouse gas emissions 100% by 2050.
The sustainability course is aimed at informing and educating the travel trade about United’s green initiatives and investments such as electric aircraft, sustainable aviation fuel purchases, carbon sequestration and more, without relying on traditional carbon offsetting. In 2021, United was named Eco-Airline of the Year by Air Transport Magazine for the third time and this year, won FlightGlobal’s Airline Strategy Award for Environment, Social & Governance.
Alongside the sustainability course, United has its primary course with OTT which covers the airline’s expansive route network (including its new route from Heathrow to Boston, launched earlier this year) and product offerings, including United Polaris business class, United Premium Plus and United Economy, as well as United Economy Plus.
Sustainability is "important focus" for the travel trade going forwards
United Airlines Director Sales, United Kingdom and Ireland, Bob Schumacher said: “We chose to partner with OTT because it is a widely known and respected platform for the travel trade to learn more about the airlines they are selling on a day-to-day basis. Our travel partners are key to selling United and this course provides great information on our many products and services, as well as the latest on the importance of sustainability.”
OTT Founder, Julia Feuell said: “It’s great to see that United Airlines has added a sustainability course to OTT. As we all know it’s one of the most important focuses for the industry going forward and with United’s impressive efforts and strides, we feel our platform is perfectly placed to educate the travel trade.”
