Malaysian Airlines and Tourism Malaysia tantalise the tastebuds at lunchtime cook up event
Tourism Malaysia, together with Malaysia Airlines, hosted a lunchtime cookery workshop at the School of Wok in Covent Garden, to provide a tasty and engaging introduction to Malaysian culture and cuisine.
Malaysia Airlines' OTT course gives an overview of the airline's connectivity and stopover offers within southeast Asia and Australasia as well as its new A350 aircraft.
The workshop, organised to celebrate the launch of Visit Malaysia 2020, took place at Europe’s only award-winning Asian cookery school. The event was attended by the Malaysian High Commissioner Mohamad Sadik Kethergany, Shahrir Ali of Tourism Malaysia, Daniel Bainbridge and the Malaysia Airlines team, as well as selected representatives of the media.
The lunchtime event was opened with a Prosecco reception, followed by an opening speech by the High Commissioner. The group was split into teams and taught how to cook a range of traditional Malaysian cuisine, including rojak salad, satay and kapitan chicken or vegetable curry.
Guests then sat down to enjoy the meal they had cooked together, before two Malaysia Airlines return tickets to Kuala Lumpur were awarded to the best chef.
Visit Malaysia 2020 is an initiative which aims to welcome 30 million tourists to Malaysia in the year 2020 to enjoy the country’s warm hospitality and cultural attractions. The initiative has been organised together with the national carrier Malaysia Airlines.
