Removal of testing requirements from 1st May for fully vaccinated visitors to Malaysia

Removal of testing requirements from 1st May for fully vaccinated visitors to Malaysia

London, United Kingdom (28 April 2022) Malaysia Airlines, the national carrier of Malaysia, welcomes the news that the Ministry of Health of Malaysia will remove the remaining entry restrictions for fully vaccinated passengers from 1 May 2022.

Fully vaccinated travellers, alongside those under the age of 12, will be permitted to enter Malaysia without undergoing pre-arrival testing. They will still be required to complete the pre-departure form (Travellers Card on MySejahtera app). Some entry restrictions will remain in place for non-or-partially- vaccinated visitors.

Malaysia Airlines is currently flying its MH1 and MH3 routes 11x weekly from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (LHR-KUL) until 29 June and will return to its full double daily service from 30 June onwards.

The removal of entry requirements for fully vaccinated travellers provides greater flexibility to visit or stopover in Malaysia. Malaysia Airlines looks forward to welcoming travellers aboard with its signature Malaysian hospitality offering.

Daniel Bainbridge, Regional Director UK & Europe, commented:

“I am delighted to see that the Malaysian Government is removing all pre-entry and arrival testing requirements for fully vaccinated travellers from 1st May. Malaysia Airlines is the only airline offering direct flights from the UK to Malaysia and international arrivals have increased dramatically since the border officially opened on 1st April. This further removal of entry requirements is an even clearer sign that Malaysia is fully open to the world, and Malaysia Airlines cannot wait to welcome more passengers onboard with our warm Malaysian hospitality.”
