JAL launches carbon offsetting programme for businesses

JAL has launched a new carbon offset programme which focuses on the volume of CO2 emissions consumed during business trips.

While the JAL Group has been offering ‘JAL Carbon Offset’ since 2009 as an option to offset the CO2 emitted by the boarding aircraft, the new programme - which launched at the beginning of July - presents the data for each company and organisation that wishes to participate.

When customers participate, their monthly CO2 emissions quantities will be provided by email, and their company or organisation can set up an account and access the dedicated website.

On the website, in addition to checking the history of the volume of CO2 emissions, if desired, offsets through support for various CO2 reduction and absorption projects in Japan and around the world, and issuance of offset certificates are available.
