How a party promotion helped the Philippine Tourist Board launch their new online training course - and increased participation by 58%
The Philippines Tourist Board (PTB) created a lively party atmosphere to coincide with the launch of their new OTT course - and to give agents a real feel for their motto: ‘It’s more fun in the Philippines.’
The PTB combined the online course with a face-to-face event by creating a carnival party at Balls Brothers Restaurant in London. Having a party to launch the course resulted in an increase in participation of 58 per cent more agents taking the course than the average uptake for a course launched without a party As well as promoting the course, agents also got a real taste and feel for the destination with traditional Filipino food, drink and music. You can check out the event on YouTube.
Senior Account Manager Sarah-Lynne Rand explains: “The idea behind the event was to launch the course and create a real party atmosphere around it. We did this by having a great live band, fun games and, for those who wanted to check out the course while they were at the party, a number of iPads.”
“During the on-stage presentation, the big screen displays showed both the Philippines Tourist Board and OTT logos, with screenshots giving agents a real flavour of the course.”
“We also wanted travel professionals to take that feelgood factor home with them, so as an extra encouragement to them to sign up and take the course, we also offered a competition prize draw to win a place on an exciting fam trip. A goodie bag gave them another taste of the destination with a pack of dried mango, a Filipino delicacy, plus information on the destination and a flyer with more information on the course.”
