Disinfection of Airport Check-in Area, Lounge & Aircraft Cabin

  • Regular cleaning/disinfection or airport check-in area and lounges.
  • International flights disinfected every day.
  • Japan domestic flights disinfected overnight.
  • Aircraft areas disinfected include seat table, arm rests, IFE monitors/controllers, lavatories and/or any areas where customers may touch during a flight.

Face Masks, Gloves & Partitions

  • Airport staff & cabin crews now wear face masks or face guards.
  • Cabin crews wear gloves when serving meals & beverages.
  • Passengers are required to wear a face mask or covering when travelling on JAL, and will be denied boarding if without.
  • Partitions installed at airport counters, lounges & baggage reclaim areas.

Air Quality of Aircraft Cabin

  • All aircraft in JAL's fleet is installed with HEPA system to maintain the cabin's air purity levels
  • High-Efficiency Particular Air (HEPA) Filter are designed to capture at least 99.97 percent of fine airborne particles larger than at least 0.3 micrometer
  • Through the engine of the aircraft, the inside or JAL cabin is ventilated with frech air from ourside every two to three minutes

JAL COVID-19 Cover

  • All customers on JAL International flights are eligible for JAL Covid-19 Cover which provides complimentary support in case of COVID-19 infection.
  • Provided by Allianz Travel, test costs; medical expenses up to 150,000 Euros; isolation expenses up to 100 Euros per day up to a maximum of 14 days; and medical repatriation cost up to 1,500 Euros are covered, if you test positive for COVID-19 during your travel.
  • Coverage is up to 31 days after the departure date of the first eligible flight, or upon return to your country of residence, whichever is earlier.
  • This complimentary coverage is provided only to passengers travelling on JL-operated international flights with JL flight numbers.
  • Codeshares flights are not eligible.
