To ensure customers can travel with confidence, we’re continuing to offer added flexibility if their travel plans change during the pandemic.

To give customers more time to enjoy their benefits, Delta is also extending benefits for some Delta SkyMiles American Express Card Members, Delta Sky Club Memberships and more.

EXTENDING TICKET VALIDITY & WAIVING CHANGE FEES

Delta is giving customers more time to plan and rebook a trip than any other U.S. airline with a travel credit extension that allows for unmatched flexibility. Tickets normally expire one year after purchase, but effective immediately, Delta is extending the validity of:  

• All tickets expiring in 2021 to expire Dec. 31, 2022 

• All tickets purchased in 2021 to expire Dec. 31, 2022

Additionally, to provide more protection for more tickets, Delta is extending its existing change fee waiver for all tickets that originate outside of North America.

If your travel is eligible for a waiver, you can move travel dates and even select a new destination. Unused tickets will be applied toward a new flight, and in some instances a fare difference will apply. If the new fare is lower, customers will receive an eCredit for the difference. If the new fare is higher, the difference will be collected. 

DELTA'S TRAVEL EXCEPTION POLICY FINDER

Delta’s new Travel Exception Policy Finder guides travel agents through a step-by-step process to identify the correct waiver code that applies for their specific ticket.

The tool can be accessed on the Delta Professional Travel Agency Website via Delta’s Travel Exception Policy Archive page as well as through the Delta Coronavirus News page for Waivers.

Extending benefits

Knowing that coronavirus has impacted travel for many, and even more so for our most loyal Medallion Members we extended 2020 Medallion Status an additional year through January 31, 2022; and all Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) from 2020 will roll over into 2021. Not only has Medallion Status been extended, but we also extended other program benefits, including select Delta SkyMiles® American Express Card, Go to footer note benefits and Delta Sky Club Memberships, Go to footer note. 

Making it easy

Extended Medallion Status has been automatically added to qualifying SkyMiles accounts. All other updates will happen automatically, with no action needed. We’ll be reaching out directly to affected Members with additional information.
