In a survey in December 2018 Aurigny, (pronounced 'Or-ree-nee') came top as the best Short Haul Airline in the latest Which? Magazine Poll. It is also one of the oldest in the world as it has been flying between the Channel Islands, the UK and France for over 50 years.

Christened after the French name for Alderney, the Channel Island where it was founded, Aurigny serves as a lifeline link for locals travelling from the islands and for tourists and business travellers wishing to visit the southern most part of the British Isles. The airline's links with London are vital for Guernsey's international finance industry with up to nine daily flights between the island and London Gatwick, and London Stansted.

Aurigny flies to Guernsey from Alderney, London Gatwick, Manchester, Bristol, East Midlands, London Stansted, Leeds Bradford, Norwich, and Grenoble. It also flies from Southampton to Alderney direct. The airline took delivery of its first Embraer E-195 regional jet to operate its expanded Guernsey / London Gatwick service in June 2014. It also has a number of state-of-the-art ATR 72-500s that are used for most UK flights.
