• Emirates was established by an Emiri decree in early 1985, and launched its first flight in the same year on 25 October. Since then, Emirates has become an award-winning, world-class carrier 
  • The airline began operations with two wet-leased aircraft: an Airbus 300 and a Boeing 737-300, providing services to India and Pakistan.

 

 

  • Within the first year of operations, Emirates acquired its first fully-owned aircraft, a Boeing 727. Today we operate a fleet of over 260 aircraft including 97 A-380s, our flagship aircraft.
  • We also have a further 212 aircraft on order worth over US$104billion at list prices.​
  • We currently fly to over 150 destinations in 81 countries worldwide from Dubai*.
